    The vision of UNIST is to be a world leading university to advance science and technology for the prosperity of humankind. We have been focusing on interdisciplinary science research and education since our establishment in 2007. UNIST is a growing institution for science research and has been selected to participants in the World Class University (WCU) project and a number of other national projects.

    UNIST Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (U-SURF) provides the opportunity to experience interdisciplinary research in a laboratory and selects outstanding 3rd or 4th year undergraduate students from across Korea, research scholarships and residence fee (every participants can stay in the dormitory) are provided to select students. U-SURF provides an opportunity for participants to research in a low professor-student ratio environment.

    Students are accepted into the program, and selected students will be assigned to the laboratories based on their interest. Throughout the program, students undertake research topics using the state-of-the-art facilities.

    Students are paid a stipend of around KRW 800,000, and provided with free accommodation at the student dormitory (Utility charges to be paid by the students and meals are extra) They also have free access to library during the stay. Upon completion of the program, they are awarded the Certificate of U-SURF Completion.

    We look forward to outstanding 3rd or 4th year undergraduate who will join in state of the art research during the summer vacation.
